Choosing What to Watch

With no chance to go to theatres or attend social events for more than a year, we are spending a lot of time at home. And that gives us the opportunity to browse on all web platforms and look for interesting stuff to watch. There is a big diversity of new things coming out now and old stuff that somebody recommended to us. With so much to choose from, we are sometimes confused and just start watching something, which is not that good, and we lose interest quickly.

And this makes us feel like we are losing our time. So, to prevent this from now on, I will give you a list of things I watched, full of incredible storytelling. Tv programs that will get stuck in your head for a long time, crafted by one of the best people in the industry.

Absolute Best Storytelling

They are 4 Tv shows that blew my mind recently. They are all very different, but two things connect them. The amazing storytelling and those crazy twists that you never expect. The new thing is that they all come from web platforms.

Better Call Saul

My absolute favourite Tv show, airing now. It is a prequel to “Breaking Bad”, and it is created by the genius- Vince Gilligan and the mastermind producer Peter Gould. Just like “Breaking Bad”, every season is better than the previous one. It is a story about a layer who is changing his view of how the law should be executed. Some of the characters like Mike, Nacho, Gus Fring, Hector Salamanca, and the Salamanca brothers are well known for the “Breaking Bad” fans.

The show is slow-burning full of incredible details and character development. Some of the episodes are having rating higher than 9.5 in IMDB, and I am not going to spoil, but there is one particular episode which is as great as the “Breaking Bad” episode “Ozymandias” hitting 10/10 scoreline, which for many is the best Tv episode in the history of TV.

The newest and last season is coming on Netflix later this year, where you can find all the previous seasons as well. Believe me, you will never regret spending time on that Tv program, and there Is a big chance to start speaking about it to all your friend and try to make them watch it as well.

Behind Her Eyes

It is a brand-new Netflix Tv Mini-Series, created by Steve Lightfoot, the executive producer behind the nominated for an Emmy award Tv show, “Hannibal”. It is a psychological supernatural thriller with only 6 episodes. All the 3 main characters have a unique way of seeing reality. Without spoiling anything, I can say it has the craziest twist in the end that nobody expects.

One of the characters in the main role is the nurse from the Cinemax Tv show “The Knick”, so if you are a fan of her, you will love her performance in “Behind Her Eyes”. The Tv Show is based on the novel “Behind her Eyes” by the author Sarah Pinborough. There is no information about the second season coming out. So, if you are into dark psychological thrillers, it is a must-watch program!

The Morning Show

Probably the best Tv show produced by Apple TV+. The people behind it are Jay Carson, the producer of the scandalous Tv show “House of Cards” and Kerry Ehrin, well know figure in the Tv industry. The story reveals the dark side behind America’s favourite morning show, and all the “behind the curtains” moves from the people who stay on top of the pyramid. The interesting thing is that the 3 leads – Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell are usually well known for their comedy roles, but here they make an extraordinary appearance like a drama character. And they are fantastic.

You will never think of Steve Carell as the funny boss from the “Office” or Jennifer Aniston as a friend from “Friends”. Because the season 2 shooting was interrupted by the Corona Virus pandemic and restrictions, we still do not know when it will be aired. But as far as we know, it would be later this year. Give it a try and watch how you get hooked up just after the first episode.

The Boys

Oh gosh. How much I love that one. The truth is we live in an Era, where superhero movies and Tv shows have so much power. They are so watched, but unfortunately, most of them are losing their real potential, and the ones with a really good script and enjoyable storytelling are rare. “The Boys” is real, rare, bloody, and you cannot guess who is good and who is bad—Amazon finest, created by Eric Kripke, the writer behind the beloved Tv show “Supernatural”.

The story is incredibly interesting, and it follows the group of vigilantes teaming up against the world’s top superheroes, who are abusing their power to the maximum level. It is one of the few R-rated programs. The CGI effects are well done, and not too much, just perfectly balance so they can help and follow move the story up. Right now, they are shooting the third season, and if we are lucky, we can watch it later this year. If you are into bloody, dark, and crazy superheroes, that is the perfect program you should watch.
